What to look at in someone else’s finished job
- Sight lines. Narrow frames mean more glass and more daylight. A replacement that visibly shrinks the opening was sized to a stock unit, not to your house.
- The perimeter. Clean, consistent sealing where the frame meets stucco or brick is the difference between a window that stays dry and one that does not.
- Grid alignment. Grids should line through across every window on an elevation. When they do not, nobody measured the elevation as a whole.
- Matching hardware. Handles and locks that match across doors and windows are a sign one company did the whole job.
